The most special feature, however, is that the bacteria in Lactobact BABY+ are protected from stomach acid by a patented technology. The so-called microencapsulation (Intelicaps) is a plant-based coating of the bacteria at a microscopic level. Only when the pH value in the small intestine rises does the coating dissolve, and the previously freeze-dried bacteria absorb liquid, become activated, and achieve their effect.

If bacterial cultures are unprotected from stomach acid, a large proportion of the bacteria die before reaching the intestine. They cannot colonize the intestine. The bacteria in Lactobact Baby+ are specially selected and contained in a therapeutically effective concentration of 200 million units per daily dose. The bacterial strains are selected based on current scientific knowledge and various specialist studies.

Heat is normally a threat to the bacteria contained in preparations containing bacterial cultures; they can die and thus no longer colonize the intestine after consumption. However, the coating (Intelicaps) used in Lactobact Baby+ offers reliable protection from heat, allowing the powder to be stirred into the bottle or cereal at consumption temperature.

The bacteria in Lactobact Baby+ are supported by the additional ingredients pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and folic acid (vitamin B9). Both vitamins are extremely important for babies' development.
