Dry air, lack of sleep, and nicotine also put a strain on the eye's metabolism. Various factors play an important role in the health and vision of the eyes.

This includes a good supply of nutrients such as vitamin A and the trace element zinc. Since the body cannot produce these nutrients itself, they must be consumed regularly and in sufficient quantities through food. However, with an unbalanced diet, this supply is not always optimal.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are found in plant foods (e.g., green vegetables). They are plant carotenoids that belong to the group of secondary plant substances. Vitamin A and zinc contribute to the maintenance of normal vision. Vitamins C and E, as well as zinc, contribute to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
