Turmeric, also known as curcumin, is a perennial plant native to the tropical climate of India. Very large, elongated, pointed leaves and large, white-greenish to purple flowers grow on stems from the yellow, heavily branched rhizomes.

Turmeric powder is the dried, ground root of the plant, which is one of the most important spices in India and Southeast Asia. Turmeric is also used in Indian Ayurveda. In India, turmeric is primarily known as the coloring component of curry powder.

Turmeric is primarily valued for the curcuminoids contained in its roots, especially curcumin.

Micellar technology enables optimal absorption into the body

Due to its poor water solubility, only a small portion of curcumin can be absorbed by the body in its native form. To fully exploit curcumin's potential, very large amounts would have to be ingested. curcumin-Loges® contains the valuable ingredients of the turmeric root in a form that is particularly easily absorbed by the human organism. Following nature's example, curcumin was "packaged" in so-called micelles. The human body also produces similar micelles, for example, to absorb and utilize the fat-soluble vitamins from milk. This makes curcumin particularly well absorbed.
